Workplace Regulations - Americans With Disabilities Act
The ADA ( Americans with Disabilities Act) prohibits discrimination against people who are disabled. The ADA's protection applies primarily, but not exclusively, to "disabled" individuals. An individual is disabled if:
- He or she has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of his/her major life activities, or
- He or she has a record of such an impairment, or
- He or she is regarded as having such an impairment.
- Other individuals are protected in certain circumstances.
Please visit the ADA home page for more information. These regulations may or may not apply to your company. Check with your Human Resource department for clarification.
